Nigerian Luxury designer Alexander Amosu created the world’s most expensive champagne in collaboration with luxury champagne brand Goût de Diamants. Called “Taste of Diamonds”, the drink costs £1,200,000 (N 248,202,764.73) Personally I wasn’t so surprise about his latest designs until I heard the price and I decided to look it up myself and then I was wasn’t still surprise but flabbergast at the price a bottle of champagne is been sold but you need to know how many carat gold the bottle carries then you will understand why is that expensive and it’s one of those champagne bottle that one tend to monitor during a party/get-together to make sure your guests don’t try to whisk it away (I mean you’ve got to have a special security for the bottle LOL).

The expensive drink by the luxury brand has been launched into the champagne market and is striving to become the world’s most enjoyed champagne by commissioning this one off design for private clients.

The Goût de Diamants team met with Alexander Amosu and told him to create something special and unique. He created a design which takes its inspiration from the Superman style signature and hand crafted it from 18ct solid white gold weighing approximately 48gsm of solid gold centered by a single deep cut white diamond weighing 19cts.

Commenting on the design, Alexander Amosu said “The bottle already has a distinctive look with its natural design, all I had to do is bring it to the next level of ultimate luxury.”

Shammi Shinh, the brand’s rep said “All our bottles come as standard with an exquisite diamond-themed bottle design encrusted with a diamond cut Swarovski crystal. We wanted to take it one step further and create a one off masterpiece for one of our private wealthy clients and we are very please with the results.”

The versatile award winning music Producer and MAVIN Records CEO, Don Jazzy was the first person in Nigerian to receive a bottle from Alexander Amosu himself and trust me, he didn’t waste time to let us know when he posted on his twitter page, see picture below courtesy: Twitter.

Born to Nigerian Parents in London 1975 Alex Amosu’s north London entrepreneur made his first million at the age of 24 by selling ring tones of the latest R&B and hip hop tracks. The first collection he sold was a monophonic version of ‘Big Pimpin’’ by the New York rapper Jay-Z. Amosu did not like asking his parents for money and so he was always on the look-out for ideas seeing opportunities that can be turned into revenue. Whether they’re successful or not didn’t really matter – he would do it, market it and if it works, make money.

Alexander Amosu

When he was 25 he bought a mobile phone and realized he could compose tunes on it. Other people were doing the same thing, but passing them around their friends for free. Amosu having bought a Nokia phone, found the Composer facility and programmed “Big Pimpin’” into it. His brother liked the concept and asked him if he could have the phone. Amosu did not think of it much. His brother went to school the next day, and it went off in class. Everybody wanted it. All of a sudden there were 21 people on his doorstep – no way was he going to give everyone a ringtone for free.He told them to give him a pound each. That was Amosu’s first ringtone scheme.

  • Amosu at the Bedroom Britain (A campaign for young entrepreneurs)

Amosu realized it was an opportunity to make a fortune. After researching the market, he launched his company. In his final university year pursuing aeronautical engineering degree Amosu quit to expand his fledgling company, R&B Ringtones. Amosu did some research, and found there were three companies supplying Ringtones,-One in Germany, one in the UK and one in Holland. All the ringtones were pop and rock, not R&B. It was perfect for Amosu as he took the R&B market. He hired his mother and brothers to answer calls and dispatch ringtones from the family living room using cheaply available mobile technologies, PCs and premium-rate phone-lines.

Meanwhile Amosu promoted the service on the back of flyers for college balls. ‘I ran back home from handing out flyers at a Valentine’s Ball, and I’d made £91 by the time I got home. I had one computer at the time,’ he says, ‘and the company grew by word of mouth. Within three months he had gone from being refused by all the banks to hiring 21 staff and opening two offices. In a year, Amosu made a million.

    1. Think of it this way – it’s hand crafted from 18ct solid white gold weighing approximately 48gsm of solid gold centered by a single deep cut white diamond weighing 19cts. meaning the drink really isn’t the main focus here, you can always save your bottle for future use probably for sale or put of for exhibition.
